On Monday 14th October 2024, Al-Noor Masjid held its annual Ghiyarhween Sharif program. An Urs is a religious event where the life, legacy and teachings of the great awliya (saints) are shared with devout Muslims in a gathering. The Urs of Shaykh Abd al-Qadir Jilani (may Allah shower His mercy on his final resting place) holds a special place, for he is unanimously known as the greatest saint (wali) of Allah.
The Houston community were blessed with the presence of Mufti Sohail Raza Amjadi, who spoke at the event. He was joined by another renowned figure, Salman Gul.
